Well it has been a little while since I last wrote on here.
I have decided on a few papers, for 2010.
So far I am studying in trimesters 1 and 2.
Still deciding about Summer School 2010.
I just applied for a job at Karori Brumby's. Part time 10-15+ hours per week.
Should be good.
I will be second year in 2010. I think I have to do one first year paper. (100 level as they are called).
I have found a group of 4 to go flatting with: Kieran, Neil, my little sister Ashleigh and I. A good balance of people, both in age and gender.
Ashleigh will be 18, I'm 21 and the boys are both 25. Plus both the boys are Computer "geeks". While I am a self proclaimed "book-nerd". Ha-Ha.
Kieran is studying Music, Neil is doing his Masters in Computer Science, while I am doing my BA in English Literature. :)
I am unsure at this stage exactly what Ashleigh is studying, but I'm sure she will work it out. Heck she knows Wellington city better than me, and she has only been here a week! (On school trips etc.) Yet as a "Local" I don't even know where places are.
We are currently looking for a 4 bedroom place, close to Vic Uni Campus. Since most of us will be studying at Vic Uni's Kelburn Campus. I am heading down to the VUW student accommodation place in the next few weeks, to see what sort of places they can suggest. We can always contact the current landlord (well property management place) as Neil and I have been here for the past few months at least, and Neil has had the tenancy a couple of years now.
Just need a New Place for 2010. Second year is going to be amazing! and I can't believe I will be a year ahead of Kieran! hehe. but really there is no competition, what happens happens.

The VMA awards/ Famous Deaths:
Hey Guys, I know not all of us are into the rich and famous.. But I found this to be truly disgusting! Kanye West took to the stage 'during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech' to steal her moment in the spotlight and have a good rant about Beyonce's Video being the best... See it here:
http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml
There are also many video's on youtube search key words " Taylor Swift, Kanye West, MVA's"
R.I.P to Patrick Swayze who lost his epic battle with Pancreatic cancer on Monday. He was 57 and starred in movies such as Ghost and Dirty Dancing. Another truly great man, gone.
In other more pleasant news, I got my best grade yet. a nice little B- (two grades higher than my usual C) :) weehee. Am very stoked.
Partying it up in the weekend :) Heading Home on the 19th with Becks. Waiting to hear from Ben, see if he has a way home yet.
Can't believe that in a week (a mere 7 days) that I will no linger be a young 20 year old chicky but instead be a mature 21 year old woman. Whew! Scary. I'm looking forward to it as well. But am also a little scared. And No I don't wish to do all 21 shots. I think I would Die. anyway, I better go soon, I have a class soon :) xoxo good bye for now, will write more soon. I promise. :)

Saturday 12th Sept: Lisa's Lounge
Hey, here I am sitting in the lounge. I've been practising my drinking and dancing skills. (haha) Oh and singing skills for karaoke... anyway. Thought I'd write a bit of an update since it was a while ago that I wrote on here. Firstly, Dunedin was AMAZING! Great place for clubbing, and got into a couple of places free... even though they had a door charge. (thanks to it being Tracee's 21st and one of the boy's is a member.. go figure!) Had a great time. Didn't really explore so much, headed to the Uni a couple of times. Tracee lives with some Gym Bunnies and Gym Person Trainers. Who weren't too impressed that I haven't been to a Gym in 2 years. Haha.
Anyway, Um, New Plymouth/ Home. Spent 6 days at Home. Visiting the family, and driving round the place. Stayed out at Pammy's (Kieran's Mum and Dad's) and had dinner with Liam and Pam.
Kieran drove back to town the next morning with me in my car. Unfortunately he hit a spot of sun strike and drove the car off the road. We couldn't get it out. So luckily a couple of people from Pukeiti Gardens were coming down the road at that time, they were nice enough to drive us to Pukeiti, so we could phone for help. (There is limited cell phone coverage up that way, and none in that area). So yeah, I called Mum and Dad. Unfortunately Dad couldn't come save us. And luckily Kieran's Mum had to number of their next door neighbour who has a tractor. We called him, and he came up in his Ute. Luckily I had left my dad's bright fluro vest in the back of my car. So I went up the road a little to stop cars/ vehicles coming down the road, and the guy from Pukeiti did the same, down the road. Kieran and the Neighbour pulled the car out. But now my poor car needs a few things fixed on it. It needs a wheel alignment for a start.
Went home on the Bus on Friday night. Arrived in Welly around 9pm. Neil came and picked me up. Came home. On that Sunday I went to the James Cook Hotel in Wellington city (It's at 149 The Terrace, I believe). The spa is called "BodyHaven"
www.bodyhaven.co.nz
$80 deluxe massage, full body, an hour. (Is well worth it.) ((Costs $65 with student ID))
$60 basic massage, full body, an hour.
((Student ID gets 15% discount)).
I went for the deluxe massage, which included deep tissue massage, as recommended by the host from Body Haven. As she suggested it may help my nerve damage. The next day my foot absolutely ached. But I felt so relaxed and I think i may have fallen asleep... hehe. Definitely worth it to go get a professional massage every once and a while. And Aunty Kathryn, the James Cook Hotel is amazing. The spa is on the 16th floor, they have a gym, and many, many conference rooms. It's flashy but nice. The Concierge at the door was a charmer. ;) hehe.
Not sure what the rooms themselves were like, I didn't see inside any. :(
My Foot: Still not right. (LOL, it's my right foot). Had X-Rays taken while I was in NP. No breaks/ fractures/ dislocations... just means it is nerve damage. I have an appointment with the Neurologist on the 1st of Oct at the Hospital here in Wellington. (Have to be brave and go by myself though.) Feeling nervous. And I think there is a fee. :( Dr Rich (My GP back Home) said he thought it was weird that the Uni docs hadn't sent me for X-rays, and that he wasn't surprised that my blood tests came back normal. he also thought it weird that they would send me to a Neurologist (Brain Doc- nerve signals) and not a Podiatrist. (Foot Doc). But yeah. We will see. I just wish they would get to the Bottom of it, and just get on with telling me what's wrong and what to do. It's so painful some days... when I limp so bad. :( and others there's little pain at all. It's definitely more painful when it's cold.
Uni:
Failed two papers, have a chance to resit them if I want, or get higher grades to pull them up. (D + B = C) C grade is needed for average to pass. I need 4/4 C grades to pass. (or better). so yeah, two D's in one day isn't fun. I felt very sad, and pissed off. But I now see what I did wrong and I can do nothing but improve. Am also thinking about joining a class that is specifically for essay writing technique. Might help.. A Lot.
anyway, it's a week out from my 21st party. Got to buy some chips and stuff before I go to NP with Becks. :) Another friend might join us, but wait and see how he will get back first... seeing we have Uni on Monday etc. Leave friday night. :) But yeah. I brought chips and dip, and carrots which i will cut into sticks to use in the dip :) (Genius I know). haha. Anyway, otherwise not much has happened. Changed my Birthday Location: in the invites. :) and on the 22nd? well PARTY! Clubbing in Wellington City. :) (Meet at my place, BYO drinks, then come to town and club with me!) <-- as in F.B. invites. Meet us in town, and see what happens. :)

Goals and Future Hopes
Well this year has certainly been one of interest so far.
I have spent a large amount of time brushing up on my skills as a web designer and have learnt that its not all that easy to actually work for someone expecting a high quality website.
I have gotten back into my music in a big way, joining the octet name Reson8 with whom i will most likely be performing in a concert this coming December.
I have learnt just how tough / hard it is to be half way across the country from the one you love, and decided that despite its downsides, i really enjoy every minute i spend with Lisa, which one could expect you start to take for granted when you see each other every day.
I have learnt that it is always the right time to forgive past arguments and move on from past hurts and fights.
I have learnt that a true friend remebers you as a friend even if you might have fallen out in the past. I have learnt the importance of keeping in touch with friends and family.
I have learnt to love more openly.

Lisa's 21st
Hey. I know I don't turn 21 for a few more weeks, but with everything getting so crazy I thought I would write a bit about the plans...
I wanted to have a costume party for my 21st, but Mum put her foot down and said no.
Sooo
I got a costume for me to wear anyway. We decided on a family dinner, with a few extra friends...

August
12-08-09
August is going to be a really crazy month, I can tell.
To start with it's the 12th today, I have three essays due for my assessments for my BA (English Literature and Language.) with two english papers and an education paper. education i enjoy the most and it's essay is 2000 words, EEK!
I'm not too bothered with my spelling, and punctuation right now, don't blame me it's after 12 lol anyway, After I hand in my essays, on the 20th...I fly to Dunedin on the 21st for Tracee's 21st. Party!! Never been to South Island before, great fun.
Then head back to Welly, on the 28th. Spend the day at Uni? with Ash, my little sister, who is heading down for the Open Day at Vic Uni. (9am to 3pm, I believe.)
Then she's staying with me until the 30th. When we Bus back (nakedbus styles... hahaha) to NP. Where I stay with Mum and Dad and the Kids, until the 4th of September. heading to the doc and meeting up with Kieran and the rest of the extended family... as many as possible anyway. Not that it really matters, though I will be back a few weeks later for my birthday anyway :)
(Party on the 19th Sept. in NP at Ugly Duck...) anyway, I have a Massage booked in at the Grand Chancellor Hotel at James Cook, for the 6th of sept? so I will be fully relaxed by the time I head back for classes. I get the feeling the whole month will be full of ups and downs, life's crazy right now. I just wish my foot would heal so I can walk properly! and maybe even Drive the Car! haha.
Anyway I must bid you adu and head off to sleep.. or chat to Sean a little more on skype lol.Love to you all, byebye

An Amazing Weekend :)
Hi, Lisa here. Kieran left about 6.5 hours ago. To head home on the bus. I miss him already. (By the way Kieran- you owe me some of that snail mail... hehe).
I hurt my foot a few weeks ago. It's really really sore tonight. I twisted it a few weeks ago, when I was getting things from in the fridge freezer. I was sort of Crouched down, and lost my balance and fell over. My flatmates, kind as they are thought I was drunk... I was Not! Thanks guys!
Anyway the Uni isn't too good. I'm not too impressed. They have a Nurse Schedule time, on their site... although I went up there and wasted an hour of my life... only to find out they haven't had one up at that campus. (even though it's advertised). Guttered. Anyway. Emailed them about it, so started at Physiotherapy. Luckily ACC is covering it. (The Government is good for that at least.) lol.
Hopefully I haven't hurt it too badly. Although I'm pretty sure my foot shouldn't still hurt. I think I need X-Rays taken... But it costs money...Oh well, two weeks I head down to Dunedin.. Tracee is 21 on the 21st of August. I'm traveling down to party it up with her... Traveling the 21st to the 28th.
Rosie (my baby sister) has her birthday on the 31st of August... So I am heading up to New Plymouth for a few days from the 30th of Aug to the 4th of Sept.
Then I head back to Wellington, on the 4th.. ready for my Massage at the James Cook Hotel on the 6th of Sept. I have never been to a massage place for a massage before. Will be good. just have to remember to save money for it haha.
anyway I better go. It is late I have work tomorrow, then 2 weeks of madness before the Dunedin Madness begins! I can't wait :D

Who ever said that snail mail was dead?
Well since Lisa is half way across the country, and i find that i am completely useless when it comes to keeping in regular contact via email, or facebook.
I have come to enjoy sitting down with pen and paper to write her an 'old style' snail mail.
Like in sure the majority of you out there can agree, there is a certain satisfaction to receiving a piece of mail in the box, sitting down for a cup of joe and reading it with your feet stretched out and warming by the fire.
Well lets leave fantasy behind for a while, even though this scenario may not be every ones experience, i do admit to a small amount of glee every time i receive a letter in the post.
Seems like the old art of writing letters is slowly but surely returning to me, and whether this is a good thing remains to be seen.
Lisa, if you are reading this, i hope you can stand waiting for the snail mail, and get the same little giddy feeling like i do every time you get a letter from me.
This is Kieran Signing off.
Adios!

Of Life and the drive south
Hi all Kieran Here,
Well since this is officially my first entry on this blog, i hope you will all bear with me while i get my teeth around writing long winded and meaningful pieces of literature once again, after being so used to simple, basic replies to facebook comments and online gaming chatter.
Some of us have all the luck in the world, some of us are less than lucky, but it seems that i have had all the luck when it comes down to finding a wonderful and beautiful (asthetically and mentally) partner in Lisa.
Although she is now living away from me, in the big smoke, Wellington. I am making my best attempt to keep in regular contact, write her snail mail, and generally be the best boyfriend possible over long distance. To be honest this long distance relationship stuff is a new thing for me, having never before had to experience it, but wow is it hard work. My mum always told me that long distance was hard, but i never really appreciated her advice until now.
Although i enjoyed my first week alone immensely, and found it a little envigorating if not a little guilty to be apart from Lisa for a while, of late it has become painfully obvious that i am missing her very much, if you are reading this post Lisa, I love you lots and lots, miss you heaps and cant wait to see you again.
Well i have driven down to see Lisa once already, having the good luck and fortune to have an awesome friend in Lisa's Dad Noel Taylor. He seems always keen to contribute in anyway he can to allow me to visit Lisa. I am very grateful for this, and having a car to drive down with always helps to keep a measure of freedom in where you can go and which breaks you can take during travel.
Its less expensive that i realised to travel down to wellington, although i can see it becoming an ongoing expense, the return cost for a bus ticket is only $39, and a plane ticket return around $120. Its cheeper to use these methods of travel than travel down in a car, the last time i went it cost me roughly $180 after i had tallied up all the petrol costs. Noel was kind enough to fill the tank before i left, but i replaced that petrol when i came back.
Skype is a wonderful invention, when possible both Lisa and myself keep in contact via video call, and are able to keep in touch and up to date. Its really nice to see each others face. Stops you from forgetting how each other looks, haha.
Anyway bed time is upon me. Best finish this up.
Hope everyone makes use of this blog, we hope that you can keep up with what we are doing, thinking and generally living or going through. Please leave your comments.

First Post:
Hey guys, Lisa here, Just testing out this new blog site that Kieran has found. Looks pretty neat. See how we go with keeping it updated! Hopefully later on we can work out how to add photo's and stuff, to show you what we have been up to, and what we are doing.
Today (July 1st, a weds.) I have a job interview at 7pm, for a Club in downtown Wellington. I'm feeling really nervous, as I haven't been to any interview's in months. The job market here is nuts, not many jobs are here, and the ones that do get advertised get snapped up really fast.
The funy thing is I'm applying in a Strip Club called Mermaids, as a Bar person or Promo person. I don't want to strip, and feel lucky that it hasn't come down to that.
I live in a flat in the suburb of Karori, with two guys: Felix and Neil. They are both at Vic Uni also. They both are studying Computer Science or something ... Geeky! haha. Jokes. Anyway they are nice enough, and we all get along well.
We have been looking for another flatmate ever since I moved in, and have found Matt, a guy who plays LOTRO with Kieran and I, who lives in Seattle. (Well not for long! He's off to NZ for a year!) Can't wait to meet him, he sounds awesome! Will be fun and educational for me to be showing someone around. I feel confident on the buses now, and have gone to town twice.. there isn't a lot to do, unless you work. So I try not go too much, as it costs a bit on the Bus. Still it's cheaper (and faster) than driving (or walking)!
I'm trying my hardest to keep in touch with everyone so hopefully this page will help with that. Kieran and I also both have Facebook pages, and we will both add our contacts into our profiles on here.
Ok Well I better go, got a bit to do before I go to this interview, Wish me luck. See Ya's! Love Lee.
Today (July 1st, a weds.) I have a job interview at 7pm, for a Club in downtown Wellington. I'm feeling really nervous, as I haven't been to any interview's in months. The job market here is nuts, not many jobs are here, and the ones that do get advertised get snapped up really fast.
